We arrived at Felley Priory after travelling up the M1 to Junction 27. Not normally used to using a six lane highway at a busy time in the morning, we were thinking that it would get us to the above address much quicker? We were right. The journey only took us 45 minutes from Whitwick and was easy.
We parked our Morgan next to the early birds. These are the early bird’s From Cream to Green.

The parking area was excellent (thanks to Richard) in front of the beautiful House.
The Tea Room’s was our meeting area for 10.30. As for drink’s Tea and Coffee plus Cake was on offer, needless to say nearly all took part in drinking and eating something.

A short walk across the driveway and you enter the Gardens. Wow what a sight to see. The Gardens are very well maintained. The Gardeners really do a good job. No weeds anywhere, lots of hedges and lawns cut to perfection. We all enjoyed our leisurely stroll around the 2.5 Acre grounds. After visiting the Garden Centre Shop we all thought it was time for lunch.

We made our way to The Shepherds Rest Pub in Underwood where Richard & Jenny arranged our lunch stop. Unfortunately, when we all got to the pub, that morning there had been a power cut/outage. No electricity for cooking today. No food oh dear! Some of us decided to head back to The Priory Gardens Cafe while some others decided to forget lunch and go home instead.

Thanks go to Richard and Jenny for organising the trip out to Felley Priory. The Gardens are a very worthwhile visit, so go and find this secret place.

We look forward to going back sometime soon … perhaps a return visit to see the snowdrops & bluebells.
