Cars in the Park Lichfield

4th & 5th July 2026

What a great weekend!

The weather didn’t disappoint and neither did the show this year. We had 17 cars in total on show over the weekend representing StaffsMog, DonMog and TorMog (plus a no-Mog member) so a jolly good turnout.

Keith and Ambrose recce’d and set up the stand on the Friday afternoon (always good to be there early to stake our claim) and to help James put up his Langley Classics gazebo; making sure that we tied it down securely so that it didn’t fly off during the night. We found that we had been assigned a prominent location next to the parade ring (I think that organisers tend to give us priority because

they rather like to have Morgans there). Quite so.

There were lots of other clubs there too, especially on the Sunday, and one of the organisers told me that it was probably their best attendance for years. Keith did a marvellous job of providing a steady supply of bacon-filled Staffordshire oat cakes to early risers from the magic kitchen in his camper van and we were also treated to a supply of home baked goodies courtesy of Cynthia Tipper; thanks you very much to both. Of course, this didn’t get in the way of our mission to also

sample fare from each of the food outlets and, naturally, from the ice cream man who did a splendid trade in tasty comestibles.

At the end of both afternoons, we were also invited to show our cars in the parade ring where Ambrose talked about the various types of Morgans on show and did his best to dispel the rumour that Morgan chassis were made of wood but failed to convince the public that they were in fact constructed of marmalade (well it helped to see if they were paying attention).

Thanks to everyone who helped organise the event (esp StaffsMog for lending us their gazebo) and to everyone who turned up for what was a friendly and rather pleasant weekend.
