30th July 2026
A select band of 9 DonMoggers and friends had a great outing to Kilworth house theatre on July 30th to see a fantastic production of Anything Goes. Having worried beforehand about heatwaves and excessive heat, with fall back options for both wet and too hot weather, the 30th arrived with clouds but no rain, so very pleased to report no one fried or passed out in the heat! Following what has now become our tradition, we picnicked beforehand and caught up on people’s summer news, before claiming our seats and took in the set and atmosphere whilst the rest of the audience arrived for what was another near sell out performance.

Kilworth always puts on amazing professional shows with a production and stars that give the West End a run for their money, and this year was no difference.
All the action takes place on the luxury ocean liner SS American, and Cole Porter’s music and lyrics wrap around the original story by P G Wodehouse and Guy Bolton like gloves. We were invited onboard as transatlantic passengers and taken to a madcap romantic world, which combined glamour, chaos, wit and love. The world timeless classic songs included ‘I Get a Kick out of You ‘, ‘You’re the Top’, ’Easy to Love’. ‘It’s De Lovely’ and of course the title song ‘Anything Goes’.
Another excellent afternoon and I’m sure that everyone who went will have done exactly the same as our car going home, when the live, in car entertainment, was us singing as many of the numbers as we could remember.
Our trips to Kilworth have now become an annual outing so keep an eye out for information following next year’s planning meeting in November for details of the 2027 production and trip.
